San Antonio Spurs All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge exits with right ankle sprain, does not return
The injuries continue to mount for the San Antonio Spurs.
LaMarcus Aldridge sprained his right ankle and did not return Wednesday night in the Spurs’ 121-116 loss to the Pelicans.
Aldridge landed awkwardly while attempting to defend Rajon Rondo’s driving layup with 7:17 left in the first quarter. He re-entered the game with 7:39 left in the half before exiting for good with eight points and three rebounds in 13 minutes.
The Spurs announced at halftime that Aldridge was done for the night.
Aldridge finished with eight points, snapping a 59-game streak of scoring in double figures.
The team did not immediately disclose how long Aldridge will be out.
To say the Spurs have had their share of injuries this season would be quite an understatement. In addition to Kawhi Leonard’s lengthy absence, Danny Green, Rudy Gay, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili have each missed at least 12 games.
