10 Things to Know About Thompson's World Series
– This is the 60th year of the of the World Series at Thompson Speedway (CT). The race has long been putting on large shows with drivers from all corners of New England coming to run in it.
– There will be a total of 17 classes racing over the three day weekend at the Connecticut track.
– On Friday the features will be 30 laps for the Late Models, 30 laps for the Open Mini Stocks, the first round of the Triple Crown Sunoco Modifieds, 50 laps for the R&R Street Stock Series and 75 laps for the Modified Racing Series.

– Saturday will be another busy day with the Mini Stocks going for 20 laps, the PASS Super Late Models going 75 laps, the second round of the 30-lap Sunoco Modified Triple Crown, the Pro-4 Mods will have a 22 lap race, the ACT Tour Late Models will have 75 laps on the track, the New England Supermodified Series will go 50 laps and the Outlaw Open Modified will have a 100-lap race to close out the evening.
– Sunday is the final day and Sunoco Modifieds will wrap up their 30-lap Triple Crown Series, Limited Sportsman will have 20 laps as the SK Lites will have 25. NEMA Lites will have 20 laps with the Exit Reality Truck Series having 35 laps. The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will end the day with a 150-lap contest.
– There will be 867 laps of feature racing at Thomspon this weekend. That still does not include the heats and querying laps.
– Saturday night’s Modified Outlaw race will pay $10,000 to the winner.
– Ryan Kuhn enters the PASS race as the points leader after his win at Thunder Road (VT) last weekend. Kuhn has a 37-point advantage on Gabe Brown as the season winds down.
– For some tours the World Series is the end of the road for the season, but the ACT Tour still has two more races after Thompson this year. That might not matter as DJ Shaw leads the standings by 168 points over Alexandre Tardif. Shaw has been in the top 10 during every show this season.
