F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix?

Lando Norris pipped Max Verstappen to pole for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying battle.
With Verstappen in the Red Bull and McLaren’s Norris joined by the Ferrari and Mercedes duos seemingly in the battle for pole, it was Verstappen and Norris who emerged from this pack as Norris secured that P1 grid slot for Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix.
Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen
It appeared that Verstappen may have secured the pole after gaining a few more tenths in his final run. However, Norris delivered a 1:11.383, surpassing Verstappen by a mere 0.02s, thus claiming the pole for himself.
The second row will be entirely occupied by Mercedes, with Lewis Hamilton outqualifying George Russell for only the second time this season. Charles Leclerc, ahead of his Ferrari team-mate and local favorite Carlos Sainz, will be on the third row.
The top 10 for the Spanish Grand Prix grid is completed by Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri, and Fernando Alonso.

Following his three-place grid penalty issued in Canada, Sergio Perez will spearhead the effort to break into the top 10 and earn points-paying positions. Sauber’s Valtteri Bottas will be alongside him on the sixth row.
Nico Hulkenberg from Haas and Lance Stroll, Alonso’s team-mate from Aston Martin, will make up the seventh row. These positions are ahead of Zhou Guanyu in the second Sauber and Kevin Magnussen from Haas.
Yuki Tsunoda leads Daniel Ricciardo in an all-RB line-up for the ninth row, followed by Williams’ Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant at the back for the Spanish Grand Prix. Albon was relegated to the pit lane post the team’s decision to replace his Energy Store and Control Electronics.
