Pelicans' Mirotic out at least a week with calf strain
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — New Orleans Pelicans forward Nikola Mirotic will be out for at least a week with a right calf strain.
The announcement was made by the Pelicans after an MRI taken on Thursday confirmed the initial diagnosis.
Mirotic, with an average of 16.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, sustained the injury on Wednesday night during the Detroit game. Consequently, he was unable to participate in Thursday night’s game at Oklahoma City.
The Pelicans were already missing their star center, Anthony Davis, who sat out his third consecutive game due to a sprained left index finger.
