LAS VEGAS — OG Anunoby scored 22 points to help the Toronto Raptors defeat the Denver Nuggets, 85-77, in Las Vegas Summer League at Cox Pavillion on Wednesday evening.
A single quarter was all the Raptors needed to reverse their deficit, due to an impressive fourth quarter rally. Having been behind by a maximum of 12 points late in the third quarter, Toronto staged a powerful comeback, securing up to a 17-point advantage in the middle of the fourth quarter. Their offense was significantly boosted by excellent three-point shooting, with the Raptors making 12 out of 28 attempts from beyond the three-point line.
Anunoby emerged as the Raptors’ leading scorer, making 9 out of 17 shots including two three-pointers. Giddy Potts contributed another 14 points from the Toronto bench. Notably, Potts was among the three players from the Raptors’ second unit who scored in double digits.
With 21 points, Monte Morris was the leading scorer for Denver. The second-year guard made 7 out of 12 shots and provided seven assists. Malik Beasley contributed an additional 19 points, however, it required him 23 field goal attempts to achieve this.
