Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen
After managing to shave off a few more tenths in his final run, it seemed as though Verstappen might have secured the pole position. However, Norris came through with a 1:11.383, outperforming Verstappen by a mere 0.02s to claim the pole position for himself.
The second row will be entirely occupied by Mercedes, with Lewis Hamilton securing a better qualifying position than George Russell for only the second time this season. Charles Leclerc, ahead of his Ferrari team-mate and local favorite, Carlos Sainz, will occupy the third row.
The top 10 for the Spanish Grand Prix grid is completed by Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri, and Fernando Alonso.

Nico Hulkenberg from Haas and Lance Stroll, Alonso’s team-mate from Aston Martin, will make up the seventh row. They are ahead of Zhou Guanyu from the second Sauber and Kevin Magnussen from Haas.
Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo make up an all-RB row nine, while Alex Albon from Williams and Logan Sargeant will essentially make up the last row for the Spanish Grand Prix. The team decided to change Albon’s Energy Store and Control Electronics, which led to him dropping to the pit lane.
