F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix?

Lando Norris pipped Max Verstappen to pole for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying battle.
With Verstappen in the Red Bull and McLaren’s Norris joined by the Ferrari and Mercedes duos seemingly in the battle for pole, it was Verstappen and Norris who emerged from this pack as Norris secured that P1 grid slot for Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix.
Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen
It seemed that Verstappen might secure pole position after shaving a few more tenths off his final run. However, Norris outperformed him by clocking 1:11.383, just 0.02s faster, to grab the pole position for himself.
The all-Mercedes second row will feature Lewis Hamilton, who outqualified George Russell for only the second time this season. Charles Leclerc will lead row three, ahead of his Ferrari team-mate and local favorite Carlos Sainz.
The top 10 for the Spanish Grand Prix grid is completed by Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri and Fernando Alonso.

Following his three-place grid penalty issued in Canada, Sergio Perez is set to lead the effort to break into the top 10 and earn points. Sauber’s Valtteri Bottas will be alongside him on the sixth row.
Nico Hulkenberg from Haas and Lance Stroll, Alonso’s teammate from Aston Martin, will make up the seventh row. They are ahead of Zhou Guanyu from the second Sauber team and Kevin Magnussen from Haas.
In row nine of the all-RB lineup, Yuki Tsunoda is leading Daniel Ricciardo. Meanwhile, Williams’ Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant will essentially make up the last row for the Spanish Grand Prix. Albon was relegated to the pit lane after a team decision to replace his Energy Store and Control Electronics.
