F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix?

Lando Norris pipped Max Verstappen to pole for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying battle.
With Verstappen in the Red Bull and McLaren’s Norris joined by the Ferrari and Mercedes duos seemingly in the battle for pole, it was Verstappen and Norris who emerged from this pack as Norris secured that P1 grid slot for Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix.
Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen
It seemed as though Verstappen might secure the pole position after gaining a few more tenths in his final run, until Norris delivered a 1:11.383, surpassing Verstappen by a mere 0.02s to claim the pole position for himself.
The second row will be entirely occupied by Mercedes, with Lewis Hamilton outperforming George Russell for only the second time this season. Charles Leclerc outqualified his Ferrari team-mate and local favorite, Carlos Sainz, for the third row.
The top 10 for the Spanish Grand Prix grid is completed by Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri, and Fernando Alonso.

Sergio Perez is set to spearhead the effort to break into the top 10 and secure points-paying positions, after receiving a three-place grid penalty in Canada. Sauber’s Valtteri Bottas will be joining him on the sixth row.
Nico Hulkenberg from Haas and Lance Stroll, Alonso’s teammate from Aston Martin, will form the seventh row. They are ahead of Zhou Guanyu who is in the second Sauber and Kevin Magnussen from Haas.
Yuki Tsunoda is leading Daniel Ricciardo in the all-RB ninth row, with Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant of Williams forming the final row at the Spanish Grand Prix. Following a decision by the team to switch his Energy Store and Control Electronics, Albon was relegated to the pit lane.
