Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen
It seemed as though Verstappen had secured the pole position after improving his timing by a few tenths in his final run. However, Norris surprised everyone by clocking in a 1:11.383, beating Verstappen’s time by a mere 0.02s and claiming the pole position for himself.
Lewis Hamilton will be joined by George Russell on the second row, with Hamilton outqualifying Russell for only the second time this season. The third row will feature Charles Leclerc leading his Ferrari teammate and local favorite, Carlos Sainz. Importantly, this will be an all-Mercedes second row.
The top 10 for the Spanish Grand Prix grid is completed by Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri and Fernando Alonso.
