Mariners @ Dodgers Analysis & Breakdown

This season, the Royals have exceeded even the loftiest expectations. With a record of 70-55 this year, including a 39-25 performance at home, Kansas City is only two games behind the Guardians for the top spot in the division.

KC ranks 3rd in runs per game at home this year, averaging 5.27 runs per game and they’ve recorded a 0.270 team batting average at Kauffman Stadium. The Royals have been good on the road, but they’ve been GREAT in front of the home crowd.

It’s been the MVP-like season by their young stud, Bobby Witt Jr. that’s really set the Royals apart. He’s posted a 0.349 batting average this year with 25 home runs and 91 RBI.

There’s not a lot to discuss regarding the Angels. Their star player, Mike Trout, has yet again been absent for the majority of the season due to injury, and their performance has been poor. Trout hasn’t been in action since the conclusion of May and it doesn’t appear that he will return this year.

The Angels, with a record of 53-72, are currently averaging just below 4 runs per game and hold the 22nd spot in team batting average. The situation for the Angels is projected to worsen before any improvement is seen.
