Lando Norris pipped Max Verstappen to pole for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying battle.

Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen

It seemed like Verstappen was on track to secure the pole position after shaving off a few more tenths in his final run. However, Norris outperformed him by a narrow 0.02s with a 1:11.383 lap time, seizing the pole position for himself.

The second row will be entirely occupied by Mercedes, with Lewis Hamilton outperforming George Russell for only the second time this season. On the third row, Charles Leclerc is ahead of his Ferrari team-mate and local favourite, Carlos Sainz.

The top 10 for the Spanish Grand Prix grid is completed by Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri, and Fernando Alonso.

In the ninth row at the Spanish Grand Prix, Yuki Tsunoda is leading ahead of Daniel Ricciardo, both representing the all-RB team. The last row is made up of Williams’ Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant.
