F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix?

Lando Norris pipped Max Verstappen to pole for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying battle.
With Verstappen in the Red Bull and McLaren’s Norris joined by the Ferrari and Mercedes duos seemingly in the battle for pole, it was Verstappen and Norris who emerged from this pack as Norris secured that P1 grid slot for Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix.
Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen
It seemed like Verstappen might secure the pole after gaining a few more tenths in his final run. However, Norris delivered a 1:11.383, outperforming Verstappen by a mere 0.02s to claim the pole position for himself.
The second row will be entirely occupied by Mercedes, with Lewis Hamilton outpacing George Russell for only the second time this season. On the third row, Charles Leclerc leads his Ferrari team-mate and local favourite, Carlos Sainz.
The top 10 for the Spanish Grand Prix grid is completed by Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri, and Fernando Alonso.

Following his three-place grid penalty issued in Canada, Sergio Perez is set to spearhead the attempt to break into the top 10 and secure points-paying positions. Sauber’s Valtteri Bottas will join him on the sixth row.
Nico Hulkenberg from Haas and Lance Stroll, Alonso’s team-mate from Aston Martin, will make up the seventh row. They are ahead of Zhou Guanyu from the second Sauber and Kevin Magnussen from Haas.
Yuki Tsunoda is ahead of Daniel Ricciardo in an all-RB ninth row, while Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant from Williams will essentially make up the last row for the Spanish Grand Prix. Albon was relegated to the pit lane following his team’s decision to replace his Energy Store and Control Electronics.
