Colin Allman Looking to Contend at Georgia Summer Nationals

We all grew up next to a friend who had cool toys and we always wanted a chance to play with them when we visited. That’s the story for Colin Allman in the Super Late Model ranks. In a world where the chassis names are two or three brands across the board, he and his dad Chad Allman have what worked for the family for years, Lefthander Chassis.

“It’s always fun to go and run with the Southern Super Series,” said Colin Allman. “We haven't gotten to do it as much this year as we would like. We always try to make the Cordele shows and we ran sixth there last August with our FLF chassis, but this time we are going back with our old Lefthander Chassis for this race.”

Allman has taken this ride to victory lane this season at Auburndale Speedway (FL) in Super Late Model action so it should come as no surprise that he’s familiar with it. He will make the four-hour ride north from Plant City to race his Racecar Engineering #4Law Lansky Law Group machine.

“My dad was a Lefthander guy from when he started,” said Allman. “He started racing in 1994 and his first car was a Lefthander and that's what we owned for years. We have two Lefthanders, a pro and a super. We have tried some different things, but these cars have been updated and we can still make them fast.

In the past Allman has posted three top-10 runs at Cordle Motor Speedway and he was a career-best sixth last fall in this race.

“We want to be comparative,” said Allman. “That could be fourth-fifth or seventh or eighth. We won’t know until we get there. It’s a hot slick track and Cordele can be a long event sometimes and we have to race the track and see what happens.”

The Georgia Summer Nationals will be run on Saturday, August 10th. The 125-lap race is next to the last scheduled point event for 2024. Casey Roderick leads the standings after winning in Nashville in July. He holds an 80-point lead over Matt Craig.
