Landon Huffman and Racing Dynamiks Team Up for the Montana 200
Landon Huffman, the 2022 Late Model Stock track champion at Hickory Motor Speedway (NC), will make the trip from Claremont, NC to the Mission Valley Super Oval (MT) on July 12th & 13th for the 33rd Annual “Montana 200”. The son of five-time NASCAR Goody’s Dash Series champion Robert Huffman will be in a Super Late Model prepared by Travis Sharpe and the Racing Dynamiks team. Huffman will make his first start in the Pacific Northwest and with the Northwest Super Late Model Series presented by RaceCals. It is an opportunity he excited to take advantage of.
“The opportunity to travel this far and race does not come often for grassroots short track racers here in the south, so the chance to head west and race in a prestigious event like the “Montana 200” is a blessing”, Huffman exclaimed! “Travis and his team prepare fantastic racecars, and for a small-town short tracker like myself, it's a great privilege to drive a quality car.”

The five-time starter in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series was the Paramount Kia Big 10 Challenge Champion in 2015, a series within a series at Hickory Motor Speedway (NC). He set Fast Time in his inaugural CARS Late Model Stock Series start in 2016 and was a series winner at Tri-County Motor Speedway (NC) in 2023. He finished ninth in the championship, despite missing the first two events. He finished as the runner-up at the “ValleyStar Credit Union 300” at Martinsville Speedway (VA) in 2023, arguably the biggest Late Model Stock race in the country. 85 Late Model Stocks attended.
In 2024, Huffman tried his hand at Tour-Type Modified racing, competing at The World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing at New Smyrna Speedway (FL). Back in North Carolina, the Huffman team is coming off a series of top-five finishes in their Late Model Stock, including a win at Tri-County Raceway (NC). He will now head out to The Treasure State to meet new fans and win a Super Late Model race.
“I'm excited to meet many of the fans who keep up with my efforts online and take in the sights and sounds of Mission Valley”, Huffman stated! “Most importantly though, I was called on to get a job done, and that is the number one priority, winning.”
Huffman will not only team up with Travis Sharpe and Racing Dynamiks, but also the winner of the 2023 “Montana 200”, Shelby Thompson. Thompson brought the Racing Dynamiks Super Late Model home first in last year’s edition and will make a strong one-two punch for the team, as Huffman looks forward to getting comfortable with the operation.
“I can't wait to get out west on Thursday and meet the team, get comfortable in the car, and go to work!”
The “Montana 200” will be Round #6 of the 2024 NWSLMS schedule and will take place at the Mission Valley Super Oval, paying $10,000 to win. Over 30 Super Late Models are currently entered. Teams will check in on Thursday July 11th and will be treated to a barbeque at the Undem Cabin. Friday will see Tech, Practice, Qualifying, and Qualifying Heats. The Hobby Stocks will also compete on Friday. Saturday will find the series participating in Practice, a Last Chance Qualifying Race (as needed) and the 33rd Annual “Montana 200”. The Mini Stocks will join the NWSLMS on Saturday.
For those unable to attend the big show, the race will be streamed LIVE on Racing America.
