F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 British Grand Prix?
Following the qualifying rounds for the 2024 British Grand Prix, the starting grid for F1 has been established.
The F1 starting grid has been put in place following qualifying for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on Saturday.
Before the session began, it was already established that Pierre Gasly from Alpine would be starting from the end of the grid due to a complete power unit change. However, with the wet conditions at Silverstone, a lot was still up in the air as they headed into qualifying.

The first quarter began with the drivers on intermediate tyres, under a partly sunny sky with looming dark clouds indicating potential rain. Valtteri Bottas was the first driver to opt for slicks.
But the red flag came out for Sergio Perez at Copse, who beached himself in the gravel as he got himself onto the wet part of the track, ran wide and spun around backwards. He waited to try and get pushed back on track, but wasn’t allowed back in, but that was not to be.
At the end of Q1, there was a threat of more rain. This caused the drivers to quickly line up to get back on the track to set lap times. However, the track drying up resulted in Perez swiftly falling to the back of the field.

Q2 saw the track return to more representative conditions, but there was a significant loss to the session as Charles Leclerc was knocked out at the last moment by the Aston Martin of Lance Stroll, with conditions still improving all the time.
This set the stage for an exciting Q3 session. Both Aston cars, the Williams car driven by Alex Albon, and the Haas car driven by Nico Hulkenberg made it to the top 10. Max Verstappen, despite some damage from a trip to the gravel at Copse in Q1, was also able to continue.
In Q3, the first runs resulted in an all-British top three featuring George Russell, Lando Norris, and Lewis Hamilton. However, with another run remaining at Silverstone, this leaderboard could change.
Norris had to withdraw from his final lap, however, Russell managed to fend off a faster lap from Hamilton. This allowed Russell to secure his first-ever home pole position at Silverstone, achieving an all-British top three for Sunday’s race at Silverstone.
