Zach LaVine scores 39 points in first half of Bulls' loss to Hawks

Zach LaVine’s breakout season continued on Friday with a historic 39-point first half, ultimately finishing with 50 in Chicago’s 120-108 loss to Atlanta.

In his first All-Star appearance, the Bulls guard shot an impressive 13-for-19 from the field before halftime, with 7 of those coming from 3-point range. His performance featured an outstanding streak of 25 consecutive points in the second quarter.

LaVine has become one of the only players to score at least 39 in the first half over the past 20 seasons, joining the ranks of Klay Thompson and Kobe Bryant. This achievement also signifies the highest score by a Bulls player in the first half since Michael Jordan in 1997.

In his fourth season with the Chicago Bulls, the 26-year-old has attained a new pinnacle of offensive efficiency, scoring an average of 27.1 points with a shooting accuracy of 50.7% and a 41.5% success rate from beyond the arc. His upward trajectory has aided Chicago in their pursuit of their first playoff spot in five years.
