Ryan Robbins Returns to Victory Lane at Oxford Plains Speedway

Ryan Robbins snapped a five-year drought on Saturday, winning his first Oxford Championship Series Super Late Model feature since May 25, 2019 at Oxford Plains Speedway.

Robbins held off three-time Oxford Plains Super Late Model track champion Tim Brackett for the win on Dow Excavating Inc. Night for his fourth Oxford Championship Series victory. After waiting so long to return to victory lane, Robbins was understandably filled with emotion post-race.

“First of all, I want to thank Dow Excavating for sponsoring tonight’s event and all the people along the fence," said Robbins. "That’s what keeps this place going and we appreciate everyone doing that. I want to thank the Mayberry family, all the OPS crew. They just do an awesome job here, and I’m proud to race here every week.

“I want to thank all my guys out back. It’s been a long time since we’ve done this. That’s all I’ve got for tonight.”

Brackett, who won a Pro All Stars Series event at Oxford Plains earlier in the season, was on the verge of another victory. However, he chalked up the runner-up finish to a mistake he made.

“I’d say the guy that slid the tires – that would be me – messed up," said Brackett. "It was still a good run. I didn’t give them much to work with.”

Evan Roy finished third, followed by Oxford Championship Series points leader Trevor Sanborn in fourth and Alan Tardiff in fifth.

The Oxford Championship Series races again next Saturday, July 27 on Life's A Ride Equestrian Center Night. After that, the road to the big race in August, the 51st Annual Oxford 250, properly heats up with two OCS races and a PASS visit in the first two weeks of the month.
