UEFA Champions League Tuesday Preview: Predictions & Best Bets (9/17)
With the UEFA Champions League returning to action today, we had to take a peek at the entire soccer slate. We have a total of 18 matches in the UCL this week, with six slated on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, so there is tons of action on the pitch this week. Don’t worry, we will have you covered with plenty of game pieces and best bets throughout the week.
Let’s take a look at these matchups and see if we can find any spots worth betting in the UEFA Champions League today.
- Juventus vs PSV
- Young Boys vs Aston Villa
- AC Milan vs Liverpool
- Bayern Munich vs Dinamo Zagreb
- Real Madrid vs VfB Stuttgart
- Sporting CP vs Lille
While I will admit, most of these matches are stay away spots for me, I do have a couple angles I’m seeing for this slate.

Now, I’ll be the first to tell you, that you can probably get more bang for your buck by taking Madrid to Win to Nil at around (+145), however, I’ll take a pillow and just take them to win by 2. Real Madrid are the UCL defending Champions, and I expect them to start out strong. Being at home in this opening match, Madrid should pick up right where they left off and cruise to victory.
Madrid are 2-0 at home this La Liga season, and have yet to allow a goal at the Bernabéu. I have no reason to worry about this team, as they should come ready to play without overlooking their visiting opponent. As for Stuttgart, they can certainly score. In 4 matches this season, Stuttgart have scored 12 total goals, netting 5 in one outing on the road. Putting the ball in the back of the net won’t be an issue, however I sense there will be trouble stopping Madrid from doing to same. Ultimately, I think the range of talent comes into play, with Real Madrid having the much higher skillset amongst their squad.
I expect them to roll over Stuttgart with very little resistance, setting themselves up for success going forward.
AC Milan vs Liverpool Best Bets

Yes, yes, we are betting on an under once again. It shouldn’t be a surprise at all, but feel free to check out my full article below. Despite both of these teams being very stacked up front, I see them using this first match to their feet under them to start off the tournament. I think the Liverpool backline is one of the world’s best, and I assume they will be able to hold their own against Milan. While the Italian hosts can certainly score at will, facing Liverpool’s attack could hold them up.
I expect them to have to turn some extra attention towards their defense as they face a front 3 of Salah, Gakpo and Diaz. Ultimately, I think this game will be low scoring, with Liverpool possessing the ball plenty and running out the 90 minutes at hand. Eventually, I think Liverpool will break through and find a winner, but it would not surprise me if we only saw one goal in this match, despite what the Vegas odds might be telling us otherwise.
