F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 British Grand Prix?
Following the qualifying round for the 2024 British Grand Prix, the starting grid for F1 has been established.
The F1 starting grid has been put in place following qualifying for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on Saturday.
Before the session, it was already known that Pierre Gasly of Alpine would start at the back of the grid due to a full power unit change. However, with wet conditions at Silverstone, there was still much to be decided as they headed into qualifying.

The first quarter started with the drivers using intermediate tyres, with the sun shining over one part of the circuit and ominous dark clouds looming in other areas, hinting at the possibility of rain. Valtteri Bottas was the first driver to venture out on slicks.
But the red flag came out for Sergio Perez at Copse, who beached himself in the gravel as he got himself onto the wet part of the track, ran wide and spun around backwards. He waited to try and get pushed back on track, but wasn’t allowed back in, but that was not to be.
Threats of more rain towards the end of Q1 led to drivers hurrying to set lap times on the track. As the track began to dry, Perez quickly fell to the last position.

Q2 saw the track return to more representative conditions, but there was a significant loss to the session as Charles Leclerc was knocked out at the last moment by the Aston Martin of Lance Stroll, with conditions still improving all the time.
This initiated an interesting Q3 session, where both Astons, Alex Albon’s Williams, and Nico Hulkenberg from Haas made it to the top 10. Meanwhile, Max Verstappen was dealing with damage from his own mishap at Copse in Q1, but he was still able to continue.
The initial runs in Q3 at Silverstone resulted in an all-British top three – George Russell, Lando Norris, and Lewis Hamilton. However, with another run ahead, the standings could still change.
Norris had to withdraw from his final lap, while Russell successfully resisted a faster lap from Hamilton, enabling him to achieve his first-ever home pole at Silverstone. This also resulted in an all-British top three at Silverstone for Sunday’s race.
