F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 British Grand Prix?
The starting grid for the 2024 British Grand Prix has been established after the F1 qualifying round.
The F1 starting grid has been put in place following qualifying for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on Saturday.
Before the session, it was already established that Pierre Gasly from Alpine would be starting from the back of the grid due to a full power unit change. However, there were still many things to be determined going into the qualifying round, especially with the wet conditions at Silverstone.

The first quarter began with the drivers using intermediate tyres, as the circuit was partly sunny and partly covered with dark clouds, hinting at possible rain. Valtteri Bottas was the first to take to the track with slicks.
But the red flag came out for Sergio Perez at Copse, who beached himself in the gravel as he got himself onto the wet part of the track, ran wide and spun around backwards. He waited to try and get pushed back on track, but wasn’t allowed back in, but that was not to be.
Threats of more rain at the end of Q1 resulted in drivers rushing to get back on the track to set lap times. As the track dried up, Perez quickly fell to the back of the field.

Q2 saw the track return to more representative conditions, but there was a significant loss to the session as Charles Leclerc was knocked out at the last moment by the Aston Martin of Lance Stroll, with conditions still improving all the time.
This led to an exciting Q3 session. Both Astons, Alex Albon’s Williams, and Haas driver Nico Hulkenberg had all advanced to the top 10. Max Verstappen also managed to continue despite suffering damage from a trip to the gravel at Copse in Q1.
In Q3, the first runs resulted in an all-British top three, featuring George Russell, Lando Norris, and Lewis Hamilton. However, everything could change at Silverstone as another run is still to come for all.
Norris had to abandon his final lap, while Russell managed to fend off a quicker lap from Hamilton, securing his first ever home pole at Silverstone. This also led to an all-British top three at Silverstone for Sunday’s race.
