F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 British Grand Prix?
The starting grid for the 2024 British Grand Prix F1 has been established post-qualifying.
The F1 starting grid has been put in place following qualifying for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on Saturday.
Before the session, it was confirmed that Pierre Gasly of Alpine would start at the back of the grid due to a complete power unit change. However, a lot was still uncertain going into qualifying due to the wet conditions at Silverstone.

The first quarter began with the drivers using intermediate tyres. The weather was varied, with sunshine in one part of the circuit and looming dark clouds in another, indicating potential rain. Valtteri Bottas was the first driver to switch to slicks.
But the red flag came out for Sergio Perez at Copse, who beached himself in the gravel as he got himself onto the wet part of the track, ran wide and spun around backwards. He waited to try and get pushed back on track, but wasn’t allowed back in, but that was not to be.
Threats of more rain towards the end of Q1 led to drivers lining up to quickly return to the track and set lap times. Due to the track drying up, Perez quickly fell to the back of the field.

Q2 saw the track return to more representative conditions, but there was a significant loss to the session as Charles Leclerc was knocked out at the last moment by the Aston Martin of Lance Stroll, with conditions still improving all the time.
An intriguing Q3 session was set up, with both Astons, the Williams of Alex Albon, and Haas driver Nico Hulkenberg making it through to the top 10. Meanwhile, Max Verstappen was dealing with damage from his own trip to the gravel at Copse during Q1, though he was able to continue.
In Q3’s first runs at Silverstone, the top three positions were all held by Brits – George Russell, Lando Norris, and Lewis Hamilton. However, with another run still to be held, this could change.
Norris had to abandon his final lap, but Russell managed to resist a quicker lap from Hamilton, securing his first ever home pole position at Silverstone. He also contributed to an all-British top three line-up at Silverstone for Sunday’s race.
