F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix?

Lando Norris pipped Max Verstappen to pole for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying battle.
With Verstappen in the Red Bull and McLaren’s Norris joined by the Ferrari and Mercedes duos seemingly in the battle for pole, it was Verstappen and Norris who emerged from this pack as Norris secured that P1 grid slot for Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix.
Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen
It initially seemed that Verstappen had secured the pole position after improving by a few tenths in his final run. However, Norris outperformed him by delivering a 1:11.383, which was only 0.02s faster, thus snatching the pole position for himself.
Lewis Hamilton and George Russell will form an all-Mercedes second row, with Hamilton outqualifying Russell for only the second time this season. Charles Leclerc will be ahead of his Ferrari team-mate and local favourite, Carlos Sainz, on the third row.
The top 10 for the Spanish Grand Prix grid includes Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri, and Fernando Alonso.

Sergio Perez is set to spearhead the effort to crack the top 10 and secure points-paying positions. This comes after his three-place grid penalty issued in Canada is taken into account. Alongside him on the sixth row will be Sauber’s Valtteri Bottas.
Nico Hulkenberg from Haas and Lance Stroll, Alonso’s teammate from Aston Martin, will make up the seventh row, followed by Zhou Guanyu from the second Sauber and Kevin Magnussen from Haas.
Yuki Tsunoda leads Daniel Ricciardo in the all-RB row nine for the Spanish Grand Prix, with Williams’ Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant forming the back row. Albon was demoted to the pit lane after the team decided to replace his Energy Store and Control Electronics.
