F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix?

Lando Norris pipped Max Verstappen to pole for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying battle.
With Verstappen in the Red Bull and McLaren’s Norris joined by the Ferrari and Mercedes duos seemingly in the battle for pole, it was Verstappen and Norris who emerged from this pack as Norris secured that P1 grid slot for Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix.
Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen
It seemed as though Verstappen might secure the pole position after gaining a few more tenths in his final run. However, Norris outperformed him by posting a 1:11.383, surpassing Verstappen by a mere 0.02s and securing the pole position for himself.
Lewis Hamilton managed to outqualify his team-mate George Russell for only the second time this season, securing an all-Mercedes second row. The third row will see Charles Leclerc of Ferrari ahead of his team-mate and local favourite, Carlos Sainz.
The top 10 for the Spanish Grand Prix grid is completed by Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri, and Fernando Alonso.

Following his three-place grid penalty from Canada, Sergio Perez is set to spearhead the attempt to break into the top 10 and points-paying positions. Accompanying him on row six will be Sauber’s Valtteri Bottas.
Nico Hulkenberg from Haas and Lance Stroll, Alonso’s teammate from Aston Martin, will make up the seventh row, followed by Zhou Guanyu from the second Sauber and Kevin Magnussen from Haas.
Yuki Tsunoda is leading Daniel Ricciardo in the all-RB ninth row, with Williams’ Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant essentially making up the rear row for the Spanish Grand Prix. Albon fell back to the pit lane when his team decided to replace his Energy Store and Control Electronics.
