F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix?

Lando Norris pipped Max Verstappen to pole for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying battle.
With Verstappen in the Red Bull and McLaren’s Norris joined by the Ferrari and Mercedes duos seemingly in the battle for pole, it was Verstappen and Norris who emerged from this pack as Norris secured that P1 grid slot for Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix.
Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen
It seemed like Verstappen might secure the pole after shaving a few more tenths in his final run. However, Norris posted a time of 1:11.383, outperforming Verstappen by a mere 0.02s and securing the pole for himself.
Lewis Hamilton and George Russell will make up an all-Mercedes second row, with Hamilton outperforming Russell in qualifications for only the second time this season. Charles Leclerc will be ahead of his Ferrari team-mate Carlos Sainz, the local hero, on the third row.
Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri, and Fernando Alonso round out the top 10 on the grid for the Spanish Grand Prix.

Following his three-place grid penalty issued in Canada, Sergio Perez will spearhead the attempt to break into the top 10 and earn points. Alongside him on the sixth row will be Sauber’s Valtteri Bottas.
Nico Hulkenberg from Haas and Lance Stroll, Alonso’s team-mate from Aston Martin, will be in the seventh row. They are ahead of Zhou Guanyu from the second Sauber team and Kevin Magnussen from Haas.
The ninth row is entirely made up of RB racers, with Yuki Tsunoda leading Daniel Ricciardo. The last row for the Spanish Grand Prix will be occupied by Williams’ Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant. After the team decided to replace his Energy Store and Control Electronics, Albon was moved to the pit lane.
