F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix?

Lando Norris pipped Max Verstappen to pole for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying battle.
With Verstappen in the Red Bull and McLaren’s Norris joined by the Ferrari and Mercedes duos seemingly in the battle for pole, it was Verstappen and Norris who emerged from this pack as Norris secured that P1 grid slot for Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix.
Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen
It seemed like Verstappen might secure the pole after gaining a few more tenths in his final run. However, Norris delivered a 1:11.383, edging out Verstappen by a mere 0.02s to claim the pole for himself.
The second row will comprise entirely of Mercedes with Lewis Hamilton outperforming George Russell for only the second time in this season. Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc leads ahead of his Ferrari team-mate, and local favorite, Carlos Sainz on the third row.
The top 10 for the Spanish Grand Prix grid is completed by Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri, and Fernando Alonso.

Following his three-place grid penalty from Canada, Sergio Perez will spearhead the attempt to break into the top 10 and earn points. He will be accompanied on the sixth row by Sauber’s Valtteri Bottas.
Nico Hulkenberg from Haas and Lance Stroll, Alonso’s team-mate from Aston Martin, will form the seventh row. They will be ahead of Zhou Guanyu from the second Sauber team and Kevin Magnussen from Haas.
In the all-RB ninth row, Yuki Tsunoda takes the lead over Daniel Ricciardo, with Williams’ Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant essentially making up the last row for the Spanish Grand Prix. Albon was moved to the pit lane after his team decided to swap out his Energy Store and Control Electronics.
