F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix?

Lando Norris pipped Max Verstappen to pole for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying battle.
With Verstappen in the Red Bull and McLaren’s Norris joined by the Ferrari and Mercedes duos seemingly in the battle for pole, it was Verstappen and Norris who emerged from this pack as Norris secured that P1 grid slot for Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix.
Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen
It seemed as though Verstappen might have secured pole position after shaving a few tenths off his final run time. However, Norris managed to clock a 1:11.383, outdoing Verstappen by a mere 0.02s, and claimed pole position for himself.
Lewis Hamilton has outqualified George Russell for the second time this season, making it an all-Mercedes second row. Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc is ahead of his Ferrari team-mate and local favourite, Carlos Sainz, on the third row.
The Spanish Grand Prix grid’s top 10 is completed by Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri, and Fernando Alonso.

Following his three-place grid penalty issued in Canada, Sergio Perez is set to break into the top 10 and points-paying positions. Sauber’s Valtteri Bottas will be joining him on the sixth row.
Nico Hulkenberg from Haas and Lance Stroll from Alonso’s Aston Martin team will make up the seventh row, preceding Zhou Guanyu in the second Sauber and Kevin Magnussen from Haas.
Yuki Tsunoda leads Daniel Ricciardo in the all-RB ninth row, with Williams’ Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant forming the back row for the Spanish Grand Prix. After a decision by the team to alter his Energy Store and Control Electronics, Albon was relegated to the pit lane.
