F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix?

Lando Norris pipped Max Verstappen to pole for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying battle.
With Verstappen in the Red Bull and McLaren’s Norris joined by the Ferrari and Mercedes duos seemingly in the battle for pole, it was Verstappen and Norris who emerged from this pack as Norris secured that P1 grid slot for Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix.
Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen
It appeared as though Verstappen might have secured pole position after improving his time in his final run, but Norris came out on top. He delivered a 1:11.383, beating Verstappen’s time by a mere 0.02s and clinching the pole position for himself.
Lewis Hamilton outqualified George Russell for only the second time this season, securing an all-Mercedes second row. Charles Leclerc outqualified his Ferrari team-mate and local hero Carlos Sainz, placing them on the third row.
The top 10 for the Spanish Grand Prix grid is completed by Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri and Fernando Alonso.

Sergio Perez will spearhead the attempt to penetrate the top 10 and secure points-paying positions. This follows the imposition of his three-place grid penalty from Canada. Alongside him on the sixth row will be Valtteri Bottas from Sauber.
Nico Hulkenberg from Haas and Lance Stroll, Alonso’s team-mate from Aston Martin, will make up the seventh row. They will be ahead of Zhou Guanyu from the second Sauber and Kevin Magnussen from Haas.
Yuki Tsunoda leads Daniel Ricciardo in the all-RB row nine for the Spanish Grand Prix, with Williams’ Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant making up the back row. After a decision by the team to change his Energy Store and Control Electronics, Albon was relegated to the pit lane.
