F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix?

Lando Norris pipped Max Verstappen to pole for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying battle.
With Verstappen in the Red Bull and McLaren’s Norris joined by the Ferrari and Mercedes duos seemingly in the battle for pole, it was Verstappen and Norris who emerged from this pack as Norris secured that P1 grid slot for Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix.
Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen
It initially appeared that Verstappen had secured the pole position after improving his final run by a few tenths. However, Norris delivered a 1:11.383, a time that was a mere 0.02s faster than Verstappen, allowing him to snatch the pole position for himself.
The second row will be exclusively Mercedes, with Lewis Hamilton outqualifying George Russell for only the second time this season. Charles Leclerc leads his Ferrari team-mate and local favorite, Carlos Sainz, on the third row.
The top 10 for the Spanish Grand Prix grid is completed by Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri, and Fernando Alonso.

Sergio Perez is set to spearhead the attempt to crack the top 10 and score points, having received a three-place grid penalty in Canada. He will be joined by Sauber’s Valtteri Bottas on the sixth row.
Nico Hulkenberg from Haas and Lance Stroll, Alonso’s teammate from Aston Martin, will make up the seventh row, followed by Zhou Guanyu in the second Sauber and Kevin Magnussen from Haas.
In row nine, Yuki Tsunoda leads Daniel Ricciardo in an all-RB lineup. The back row for the Spanish Grand Prix will essentially be formed by Williams’ Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant. After the team decided to alter his Energy Store and Control Electronics, Albon was relegated to the pit lane.
