F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix?

Lando Norris pipped Max Verstappen to pole for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying battle.
With Verstappen in the Red Bull and McLaren’s Norris joined by the Ferrari and Mercedes duos seemingly in the battle for pole, it was Verstappen and Norris who emerged from this pack as Norris secured that P1 grid slot for Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix.
Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen
It appeared that Verstappen might have secured the pole position after gaining a few more tenths in his final run. However, Norris unexpectedly delivered a 1:11.383, edging out Verstappen by a mere 0.02s to claim the pole position for himself.
The second row will be entirely occupied by Mercedes, with Lewis Hamilton outperforming George Russell for only the second time this season. Charles Leclerc will lead the third row, ahead of Ferrari teammate and local favorite, Carlos Sainz.
The top 10 for the Spanish Grand Prix grid is completed by Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri, and Fernando Alonso.

Following his three-place grid penalty issued in Canada, Sergio Perez is set to lead the attempt to break into the top 10 and points-paying positions, with Sauber’s Valtteri Bottas joining him in the sixth row.
Nico Hulkenberg from Haas and Lance Stroll, who is Alonso’s team-mate from Aston Martin, will make up the seventh row. They will be ahead of Zhou Guanyu who is in the second Sauber and Kevin Magnussen from Haas.
In an all-RB ninth row, Yuki Tsunoda leads Daniel Ricciardo, with Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant from Williams forming the rear row for the Spanish Grand Prix. Albon was relegated to the pit lane after his team decided to replace his Energy Store and Control Electronics.
