Lando Norris pipped Max Verstappen to pole for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying battle.

In his final run, Verstappen appeared to have secured pole position after gaining a few more tenths. However, Norris outperformed him by clocking 1:11.383, which was a mere 0.02s faster, and claimed the pole position for himself.

The second row will be entirely occupied by Mercedes, with Lewis Hamilton managing to outqualify George Russell for only the second time this season. Charles Leclerc is ahead of his Ferrari team-mate, and local favorite, Carlos Sainz on the third row.

The top 10 for the Spanish Grand Prix grid is completed by Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri, and Fernando Alonso.
