F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix?

Lando Norris pipped Max Verstappen to pole for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying battle.
With Verstappen in the Red Bull and McLaren’s Norris joined by the Ferrari and Mercedes duos seemingly in the battle for pole, it was Verstappen and Norris who emerged from this pack as Norris secured that P1 grid slot for Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix.
Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen
Verstappen seemed to have secured the pole position after shaving a few more tenths off his final run, only for Norris to deliver a 1:11.383 lap time. Outdoing Verstappen by a mere 0.02s, Norris claimed the pole for himself.
The second row will be entirely Mercedes, with Lewis Hamilton outperforming George Russell for only the second time this season. Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc is ahead of his Ferrari team-mate and local favorite, Carlos Sainz, on the third row.
The Spanish Grand Prix grid’s top 10 is completed by Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri, and Fernando Alonso.

Following the application of his three-place grid penalty from Canada, Sergio Perez is set to break into the top 10 and secure points-paying positions. Valtteri Bottas from Sauber will be joining him on the sixth row.
Nico Hulkenberg from Haas and Lance Stroll, Alonso’s team-mate from Aston Martin, will make up the seventh row. They will be ahead of Zhou Guanyu from the second Sauber and Kevin Magnussen from Haas.
Yuki Tsunoda leads Daniel Ricciardo in an all-RB row nine, with Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant of Williams effectively making up the back row for the Spanish Grand Prix. Albon was relegated to the pit lane after his team decided to replace his Energy Store and Control Electronics.
