F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix?

Lando Norris pipped Max Verstappen to pole for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying battle.
With Verstappen in the Red Bull and McLaren’s Norris joined by the Ferrari and Mercedes duos seemingly in the battle for pole, it was Verstappen and Norris who emerged from this pack as Norris secured that P1 grid slot for Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix.
Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen
It appeared that Verstappen might have secured pole in his final run after finding a few more tenths. However, Norris delivered a 1:11.383, beating Verstappen by a mere 0.02s to secure the pole position for himself.
The second row will be entirely occupied by Mercedes, with Lewis Hamilton outperforming George Russell for only the second time this season. The third row will have Charles Leclerc in front of his Ferrari team-mate and local favourite, Carlos Sainz.
The top 10 for the Spanish Grand Prix grid is completed by Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri, and Fernando Alonso.

Following his three-place grid penalty issued in Canada, Sergio Perez is set to spearhead the push to break into the top 10 and points-paying positions. Alongside him on the sixth row will be Sauber’s Valtteri Bottas.
Nico Hulkenberg of Haas and Lance Stroll, who is Alonso’s team-mate at Aston Martin, will make up the seventh row. They will be ahead of Zhou Guanyu in the second Sauber and Kevin Magnussen from Haas.
Yuki Tsunoda leads Daniel Ricciardo in an all-RB ninth row, with Williams’ Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant forming the final row for the Spanish Grand Prix. After a decision to change his Energy Store and Control Electronics, Albon was relegated to the pit lane.
