F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix?

Lando Norris pipped Max Verstappen to pole for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying battle.
With Verstappen in the Red Bull and McLaren’s Norris joined by the Ferrari and Mercedes duos seemingly in the battle for pole, it was Verstappen and Norris who emerged from this pack as Norris secured that P1 grid slot for Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix.
Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen
Verstappen seemed to have secured pole in his final run, having found a few more tenths. However, Norris pulled off a 1:11.383, beating Verstappen by a mere 0.02s and grabbing the pole for himself.
The second row will be entirely occupied by Mercedes, with Lewis Hamilton outperforming George Russell for only the second time this season. Charles Leclerc is set to be ahead of his Ferrari teammate and local favorite, Carlos Sainz, on the third row.
The top 10 for the Spanish Grand Prix grid is completed by Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri, and Fernando Alonso.

Following his three-place grid penalty issued in Canada, Sergio Perez is set to lead the effort to break into the top 10 and earn points-paying positions. He will have Sauber’s Valtteri Bottas next to him on the sixth row.
Nico Hulkenberg from Haas and Lance Stroll, Alonso’s team-mate from Aston Martin, will make up the seventh row. They will be ahead of Sauber’s Zhou Guanyu and Kevin Magnussen from Haas.
The ninth row is entirely comprised of RB, with Yuki Tsunoda leading Daniel Ricciardo. Williams’ Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant are essentially forming the back row for the Spanish Grand Prix. Following a team decision to alter his Energy Store and Control Electronics, Albon was demoted to the pit lane.
