F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix?

Lando Norris pipped Max Verstappen to pole for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying battle.
With Verstappen in the Red Bull and McLaren’s Norris joined by the Ferrari and Mercedes duos seemingly in the battle for pole, it was Verstappen and Norris who emerged from this pack as Norris secured that P1 grid slot for Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix.
Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen
It seemed as though Verstappen had secured the pole position after improving his final run by a couple more tenths. However, Norris outperformed him by delivering a 1:11.383, beating Verstappen’s time by a narrow margin of just 0.02s to claim the pole position for himself.
The second row will be entirely occupied by Mercedes, with Lewis Hamilton outqualifying George Russell for only the second time this season. On the third row, Charles Leclerc will be leading Ferrari team-mate and local favorite Carlos Sainz.
The top 10 for the Spanish Grand Prix grid is completed by Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri, and Fernando Alonso.

Following the application of his three-place grid penalty from Canada, Sergio Perez is set to spearhead the attempt to break into the top 10 and points-paying positions. He will be joined on the sixth row by Sauber’s Valtteri Bottas.
Nico Hulkenberg of Haas and Lance Stroll, Aston Martin team-mate of Alonso, will make up the seventh row. They are ahead of Zhou Guanyu from the second Sauber team and Kevin Magnussen from Haas.
In the ninth row, Yuki Tsunoda precedes Daniel Ricciardo, both from the all-RB team. The last row at the Spanish Grand Prix will be occupied by Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant from Williams. Albon was demoted to the pit lane after his team decided to replace his Energy Store and Control Electronics.
