F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix?

Lando Norris pipped Max Verstappen to pole for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying battle.
With Verstappen in the Red Bull and McLaren’s Norris joined by the Ferrari and Mercedes duos seemingly in the battle for pole, it was Verstappen and Norris who emerged from this pack as Norris secured that P1 grid slot for Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix.
Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen
In his final run, Verstappen seemed to have secured the pole position after gaining a few more tenths. However, Norris delivered a 1:11.383, beating Verstappen by a narrow margin of 0.02s and taking the pole position for himself.
Lewis Hamilton will be starting ahead of George Russell in an all-Mercedes second row, marking only the second time this season that Hamilton has outqualified Russell. Charles Leclerc and his Ferrari team-mate, local favorite Carlos Sainz, will make up the third row.
The top 10 for the Spanish Grand Prix grid is completed by Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri, and Fernando Alonso.

Following his three-place grid penalty issued back in Canada, Sergio Perez is set to challenge for a place in the top 10 and points-paying positions. Valtteri Bottas of Sauber will be joining him on the sixth row.
Nico Hulkenberg from Haas and Lance Stroll, Alonso’s team-mate from Aston Martin, will make up the seventh row. They will be ahead of Zhou Guanyu, who is in the second Sauber, and Kevin Magnussen from Haas.
The ninth row at the Spanish Grand Prix is entirely made up of RB drivers, with Yuki Tsunoda leading Daniel Ricciardo. Meanwhile, Williams’ Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant are positioned at the back row. Albon was moved to the pit lane after the team decided to replace his Energy Store and Control Electronics.
