F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix?

Lando Norris pipped Max Verstappen to pole for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying battle.
With Verstappen in the Red Bull and McLaren’s Norris joined by the Ferrari and Mercedes duos seemingly in the battle for pole, it was Verstappen and Norris who emerged from this pack as Norris secured that P1 grid slot for Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix.
Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen
Verstappen seemed to have the pole secured after gaining a few more tenths in his final run. However, Norris delivered a 1:11.383, narrowly besting Verstappen by 0.02s and securing the pole position for himself.
Lewis Hamilton will be ahead of George Russell in an all-Mercedes second row, marking only the second time this season where Hamilton has outqualified Russell. Charles Leclerc will lead on the third row, with Ferrari team-mate and local favorite Carlos Sainz trailing behind.
The top 10 for the Spanish Grand Prix grid is completed by Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri, and Fernando Alonso.

Sergio Perez is set to spearhead the effort to crack the top 10 and earn point-paying positions, in the wake of his three-place grid penalty from Canada, with Sauber’s Valtteri Bottas joining him on the sixth row.
Row seven will be formed by Nico Hulkenberg from Haas and Lance Stroll, Alonso’s team-mate from Aston Martin. They will be ahead of Zhou Guanyu in the second Sauber and Kevin Magnussen in the Haas.
Yuki Tsunoda leads Daniel Ricciardo in the all-RB ninth row, with Williams’ Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant forming the last row in the Spanish Grand Prix. Albon was relegated to the pit lane following a team decision to replace his Energy Store and Control Electronics.
