F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix?

Lando Norris pipped Max Verstappen to pole for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying battle.
With Verstappen in the Red Bull and McLaren’s Norris joined by the Ferrari and Mercedes duos seemingly in the battle for pole, it was Verstappen and Norris who emerged from this pack as Norris secured that P1 grid slot for Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix.
Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen
After Verstappen appeared to have secured pole position in his final run by finding a few more tenths, Norris unexpectedly delivered a 1:11.383. This time was just 0.02s faster than Verstappen, allowing Norris to snatch the pole position for himself.
Lewis Hamilton has outqualified George Russell for only the second time this season, making it an all-Mercedes second row. Charles Leclerc leads the third row ahead of his Ferrari team-mate and local favorite, Carlos Sainz.
The top 10 of the Spanish Grand Prix grid is completed by Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri and Fernando Alonso.

Following his three-place grid penalty from Canada, Sergio Perez will aim to break into the top 10 and secure points-paying positions, with Valtteri Bottas from Sauber on row six alongside him.
Nico Hulkenberg from Haas and Lance Stroll, Alonso’s Aston Martin team-mate, will make up the seventh row, preceding Zhou Guanyu from the second Sauber team and Kevin Magnussen from Haas.
Yuki Tsunoda is leading Daniel Ricciardo in the all-RB ninth row, with Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant from Williams forming the last row at the Spanish Grand Prix. Albon was moved to the pit lane following a decision by the team to replace his Energy Store and Control Electronics.
