F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix?

Lando Norris pipped Max Verstappen to pole for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying battle.
With Verstappen in the Red Bull and McLaren’s Norris joined by the Ferrari and Mercedes duos seemingly in the battle for pole, it was Verstappen and Norris who emerged from this pack as Norris secured that P1 grid slot for Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix.
Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen
Following his final run, it seemed that Verstappen might secure the pole position after improving his timing by a few tenths. However, Norris outperformed him with a time of 1:11.383, besting Verstappen by a mere 0.02s to claim the pole position for himself.
The second row will be entirely occupied by Mercedes, with Lewis Hamilton outperforming George Russell for the second time this season. Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc will be in front of his Ferrari team-mate and local favorite Carlos Sainz on the third row.
The top 10 for the Spanish Grand Prix grid is completed by Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri, and Fernando Alonso.

Following the application of his three-place grid penalty issued in Canada, Sergio Perez is set to lead the attempt to break into the top 10 and earn points-paying positions. Sauber’s Valtteri Bottas will be accompanying him on the sixth row.
Nico Hulkenberg from Haas and Lance Stroll, who is Alonso’s Aston Martin team-mate, will make up the seventh row. They will be ahead of Zhou Guanyu in the second Sauber and Kevin Magnussen from Haas.
Row nine of the Spanish Grand Prix is entirely occupied by RB drivers, with Yuki Tsunoda leading Daniel Ricciardo. Williams’ drivers Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant will be at the back row. Albon was relegated to the pit lane after the team decided to replace his Energy Store and Control Electronics.
