Lando Norris pipped Max Verstappen to pole for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying battle.

Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen

It seemed that Verstappen might have secured the pole after shaving a few tenths off his final run. However, Norris delivered a 1:11.383, surpassing Verstappen by a mere 0.02s, thus claiming the pole position for himself.

The second row will be entirely occupied by Mercedes, with Lewis Hamilton outqualifying George Russell for only the second time this season. Charles Leclerc will be in front of his Ferrari team-mate and local favorite, Carlos Sainz, on the third row.

The top 10 of the Spanish Grand Prix grid is completed by Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri, and Fernando Alonso.
