F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix?

Lando Norris pipped Max Verstappen to pole for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying battle.
With Verstappen in the Red Bull and McLaren’s Norris joined by the Ferrari and Mercedes duos seemingly in the battle for pole, it was Verstappen and Norris who emerged from this pack as Norris secured that P1 grid slot for Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix.
Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen
Verstappen seemed to have secured the pole position after gaining a few more tenths in his final run. However, Norris outperformed him by a mere 0.02s, recording a 1:11.383 to seize the pole for himself.
The second row will be entirely occupied by Mercedes, with Lewis Hamilton outpacing George Russell for only the second time this season. On the third row, Charles Leclerc leads his Ferrari team-mate and local favorite, Carlos Sainz.
Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri, and Fernando Alonso round out the top 10 on the grid for the Spanish Grand Prix.

Following his three-place grid penalty from Canada, Sergio Perez is set to break into the top 10 and earn points-paying positions, with Valtteri Bottas from Sauber joining him on the sixth row.
Nico Hulkenberg from Haas and Lance Stroll from Aston Martin, Alonso’s team-mate, will make up the seventh row, ahead of Zhou Guanyu in the second Sauber and Kevin Magnussen from Haas.
The ninth row is entirely occupied by RB, with Yuki Tsunoda leading Daniel Ricciardo. The last row for the Spanish Grand Prix is essentially made up of Williams’ Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant. Albon was relegated to the pit lane because his Energy Store and Control Electronics were swapped out by the team.
