F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix?

Lando Norris pipped Max Verstappen to pole for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying battle.
With Verstappen in the Red Bull and McLaren’s Norris joined by the Ferrari and Mercedes duos seemingly in the battle for pole, it was Verstappen and Norris who emerged from this pack as Norris secured that P1 grid slot for Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix.
Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen
It seemed as though Verstappen might have secured pole position in his final run after finding a few more tenths, until Norris posted a time of 1:11.383. This was 0.02s faster than Verstappen, allowing Norris to snatch pole position for himself.
The second row will be entirely occupied by Mercedes, with Lewis Hamilton outqualifying George Russell for only the second time this season. Charles Leclerc will be ahead of his Ferrari team-mate and local favorite, Carlos Sainz, on the third row.
The top 10 for the Spanish Grand Prix grid is completed by Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri, and Fernando Alonso.

Sergio Perez is set to spearhead the attempt to break into the top 10 and earn points, despite his three-place grid penalty from Canada. He will be joined on the sixth row by Sauber’s Valtteri Bottas.
Nico Hulkenberg from Haas and Lance Stroll, Alonso’s team-mate from Aston Martin, will make up row seven. They will be followed by Zhou Guanyu in the second Sauber and Kevin Magnussen from Haas.
The ninth row is entirely made up of RB cars, with Yuki Tsunoda leading Daniel Ricciardo. In the last row for the Spanish Grand Prix, we’ll see Alex Albon from Williams and Logan Sargeant. Albon descended to the pit lane when his team decided to replace his Energy Store and Control Electronics.
