F1 starting grid: What is the grid order for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix?

Lando Norris pipped Max Verstappen to pole for the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix in a thrilling qualifying battle.
With Verstappen in the Red Bull and McLaren’s Norris joined by the Ferrari and Mercedes duos seemingly in the battle for pole, it was Verstappen and Norris who emerged from this pack as Norris secured that P1 grid slot for Sunday’s Spanish Grand Prix.
Lando Norris snatches Spanish GP pole from Max Verstappen
After Verstappen seemingly secured the pole position in his final run by finding a few more tenths, Norris unexpectedly delivered a 1:11.383. Eclipsing Verstappen by a mere 0.02s, Norris claimed the pole position for himself.
The second row will be occupied entirely by Mercedes, with Lewis Hamilton outqualifying George Russell for only the second time this season. Charles Leclerc outperformed his Ferrari team-mate and local favorite, Carlos Sainz, and will be ahead on the third row.
The top 10 for the Spanish Grand Prix grid is completed by Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Oscar Piastri and Fernando Alonso.

Following his three-place grid penalty issued in Canada, Sergio Perez is set to attempt to break into the top 10 and points-paying positions. He will be leading the effort with Valtteri Bottas from Sauber alongside him on the sixth row.
Nico Hulkenberg from Haas and Lance Stroll from Aston Martin, who is Alonso’s team-mate, will make up the seventh row, followed by Zhou Guanyu from the second Sauber and Kevin Magnussen from Haas.
Yuki Tsunoda is leading Daniel Ricciardo in an all-RB row nine, with Williams’ Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant forming the back row for the Spanish Grand Prix. Albon was demoted to the pit lane after the team decided to change his Energy Store and Control Electronics.
