10 Things to Know About the Milton CAT 250 at White Mountain

The American-Canadian Tour heads to White Mountain Motorsports Park Saturday for the Milton CAT Midsummer Classic 250, drawing a massive contingent of drivers for the $10,000-to-win showdown. Here are 10 things to know for this weekend's big race.

– White Mountain Motorsports Park (NH) is the venue for this race. The high-banked quarter-mile track provides great racing and action all around the track with every lap. Just a few years back, this race marked the 25th year of the track as it's become one of the most competitive tracks in New England.

– The winner will pocket $10,000 for the victory on Saturday night.

– If you are looking for a favorite, then you might want to check out Jimmy Hebert. He’s won the last two races at White Mountain and three of the last six events. Hebert has four wins at the track.

– DJ Shaw enters the weekend as the ACT Late Model point leader. Shaw has not won a race this season, but he has managed to finish all five races in the top 10 and three of those he was in the top five.

– The ACT Late Model Rookie Points show that Alexandre Tardif holds the lead 55 points to 42 points over Jamie Swallow, Jr. Cody LeBlanc is third, just three points behind that. All three drivers are in the top eight of the overall standings. Tardif is third, just 89 points out of the lead.

– Hebert is tied for the most ACT Late Model wins at the track with Jean-Paul Cyr. Both drivers have four wins. Several drivers have also won there three times including: Brian Hoar, Dillon Moltz, Scott Payea, and Wayne Halliwell Jr. White Mountain has hosted 36 ACT races which is behind only Thunder Road (VT), Airborne Speedway (NY), and Oxford Plains Speedway (ME).

– After this race, the ACT Late Model drivers will have a few days off before they head north of the border for the CAN-AM 200 at Autodrome Montmagny (QC). This will be a 200-lap race, but it’s not the only stop of the month for the ACT cars. They will be on the Saturday card at the Oxford 250 weekend.

– ACT veteran Claude Leclerc will be making a start a White Mountain this weekend. The veteran ran 397 races with the old ACT Pro Stock Series. He then added 60 plus more starts with the ACT Late Models. Not bad for an 81 year-old.
