Alex Bowman To Miss Talladega Playoff Race

Alex Bowman will not compete in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series playoff race at Talladega Superspeedway after experiencing concussion-like symptoms following an accident in the September 25 event at Texas Motor Speedway.

Bowman is currently in the playoffs and left Texas 30 points below the elimination cutline following his crash was evaluated by physicians Thursday in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Noah Gragson will drive the No. 48 Chevrolet this weekend. The Xfinity Series championship leader was already scheduled to race on Sunday for Beard Motorsports. No replacement driver has yet been announced for that organization.

Gragson won the April 23 NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Talladega.
