CARS Tour Appeals Panel Amends Penalty to Chad Bryant Racing
The CARS Tour Appeals Panel decided on Tuesday afternoon to modify the penalty imposed on Chad Bryant Racing. This penalty was originally due to an unapproved part found on Treyten Lapcevich’s No. 77 Late Model Stock Car after the event at North Wilkesboro Speedway earlier this month.
Consequently, Lapcevich has been restored as the champion of the Aug. 3 zMAX CARS Tour event, presented by SoundGear Late Model Stock Car at North Wilkesboro. However, he will not be awarded the points or cash prize for the victory.
“CARS Tour Executive Director, Kip Childress expressed understanding and acceptance of the decision made by the Appeals board this afternoon,” he said. “We are grateful for the time and effort the board has put into hearing this appeal. We acknowledge our responsibility to improve our processes and procedures as we evolve as a sanctioning body,” Childress asserted.
David Hoots, Brandon Brown, and Kevin Powell, the three-member panel, heard the appeal from team owner Chad Bryant before making their final decision.
