Shaw Declared Winner of PASS at White Mountain, Brown Placed Second
After further review and inspection, D.J. Shaw has been declared the winner of the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Model Series event at White Mountain Motorsports Park (NH) Saturday afternoon.
Initially, Gabe Brown had been declared the unofficial winner of the race, after a photo finish between himself and Shaw.

However, PASS officials have now declared Shaw the winner, citing that the transponder on Brown's car was not located in the regulated position on the car.
"At the end of the event, two manual scorers had the #60 [of D.J. Shaw] ahead, but electronic scoring had the #50 car [of Gabe Brown] ahead, winning by .003 of a second," reads a statement from PASS. "The transponder on the #50 car was positioned 3.5 inches forward on the car from the regulated position. The #50 car has already been moved to second place and will have other penalties."
In a post on his Facebook page, Brown acknowledged the outcome of the review and took responsibility for the transponder placement.
"Everyone has their own opinion and thought on the race, but in the end it’s my own fault for not making sure the transponder was in the correct location," wrote Brown. "Feel terrible for my guys but that’s how she goes. Never planned on it coming down to this and that’s why they have rules on it, we will get it fixed up and win it the right way at Thunder Road!"
The win is Shaw's fourth of the 2022 PASS season. He won earlier in the year at White Mountain, as well as during the Icebreaker at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park and in a PASS event at Oxford Plains Speedway.
Shaw finished second in the American-Canadian Tour event that followed the PASS race on Saturday at White Mountain as well, in another dramatic finish. Patrick Laperle scored the victory in that event.
