Jake Sheridan Welcomes a Stop at Peterborough Speedway
A favourite for many drivers on the APC United Racing Series tour is Peterborough Speedway, a track the series only stops at once a year. For Jake Sheridan, it's one of his favourites – not only has he shown speed here year after year but the track boasts some of the most exciting two-wide racing.
During the 2023 season the 52 car took home the pole award and added another top 5 to their stat book.
Last weekend at Flamboro Speedway the crew experienced heartbreak after winning the pole and leading the first 66 laps of the Spectra Premium 100 before a battery issue ended their run. They pitted and changed the battery, they returned to the track but it was short lived- they retired from the race around lap 80.
“Disappointing end to a great day for the SSR team. We had the car to beat all day just wasn’t meant to be. It was an uncontrollable failure that took the race away from us.”
Heading into a back to back race week Sheridan feels confident “I feel great about our car for the weekend going to Peterborough. Ive always had a lot of speed there and it really suits my driving style.“
The start to 2024 has been anything but kind to Sheridan “Its been a really tough start to the season for the SSR team but we’re holding our heads high coming into Peterborough and hoping for the smooth, clean run we deserve.”
This event will be Jake’s first event with a new sponsor on the hood, Connell’s Construction. They are based out of Peterborough and provide their services throughout Ontario when it comes to all your heavy equipment needs.
