Racing America to Feature New England Tripleheader This Weekend
The New England short track racing season may be entering its final stretch run, but business is about to pick up one last time as we enter the Month of October. As race fans head to their short track of choice this weekend, we here at Racing America will help to keep you up with all the excitement across the region with live broadcasts from three tracks across the region this weekend.
Saturday will have the most action of the weekend with a New England tripleheader.
At 1pm ET, we are heading back to the North Country of New Hampshire as the Small-Block Supermodifieds of 350 SMAC conclude their 2022 season with the SMAC Supernationals at Riverside Speedway in Groveton, NH. The 60-lap season finale will be flanked by features for “Grovetona’s” Mad Dog, Dare Devil, Cyclone, Lil’ Rascals & Lightning divisions.
At 3pm ET, Racing America will go live from Wiscasset Speedway for the second-straight week as the track’s Group 2 classes conclude their 2022 title battles. On the docket for the afternoon at “Maine’s Fastest Oval” are the Late Models, Modifieds, Outlaw Minis, and the 50-lap Strictly Street Shootout which will have plenty of extra money on the line.
But, we can’t talk about the third event on Saturday without mentioning Friday and Sunday. That’s because Russ Conway’s Oktoberfest at Lee USA Speedway will run for three straight days with over 20 feature races with one of the widest variety of racecars packed into a single weekend.
The marathon starts off Friday night at 7pm ET with the Northeast Mini Cups, NHSTRA Four-Cylinder Pure Stocks, NHSTRA Six-Shooters, Seekonk Eight-Cylinder Pure Stocks, NHSTRA Mini Cups, the 2022 championship race for the Ridge Runners, with the night concluding with a 50-lap NHSTRA Street Stock feature.
Saturday racing begins at 2pm ET with heats then features for Wicked Good Vintage Late Models & Modifieds, the first of two 31-lap features on the weekend for the New England Pro-4 Modifieds as we honor the memory of Norm Wrenn III. The New England Dwarf Cars follow along with the NEMA Lites, a NHSTRA Pure Stock Bracket Invitational, a combined Ridge Runner/Seekonk Pure Stock Shootout, the NEMA Midgets, and a 50-lap Open Street Stock Shootout to end the day.
Then on Sunday, again at 2pm ET starting with heats than features; we will have the second Pro-4 Modified race of the weekend, followed by 50-lap races for 350 Supermodifieds and NHSTRA Late Model Sportsmen. Capping off the day and Oktoberfest Weekend at “New Hampshire’s Center of Speed” 75-lap main events for the NHSTRA Modifieds and Rodfather Pro Stocks.
That is all live this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; September 30 – October 2 live on RacingAmerica.tv.
