Weekend Stat Sheet – October 14-16

– Joey Logano punched his ticket for the Championship round at Phoenix after winning the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (NV) on Sunday. This marks the third win for Logano at Las Vegas. Logano is one of two former champions still alive with two more races before the championship race. Logano will at least finish the season in the top five for the sixth time.

– Ross Chastain might not have won the race, but his second-place run is a big deal points-wise as it aids him into potentially locking in after the next two races. He needs another solid finish if not a win to advance to the next round. Chastain posted his 12th top-five run of the season at Las Vegas.

– The victory by Josh Berry at Las Vegas on Saturday in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race locks him into the championship round at Phoenix. Berry charged from the middle of the pack on two occasions to win the race. It's the third win of the year for Berry who has 11 top fives and 20 top 10 runs.

– Noah Gragson finished second on Saturday for his 18th top five run of the season. Gragson also has 23 top-10 runs in a season that has seen him win seven times. Gragson has 7 of the 13 wins for JR Motorsports this season in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

– In a year’s time Max Cookson put the finishing touches on a PASS Modified title, then went to the Super Late Model ranks, and won the Oxford Plains Speedway (ME) title. Now, in the season finale, he takes down his first PASS Series win. Cookson held off Curtis Gerry and DJ Shaw for his first PASS win.

– Garrett Lamb used 13 top-10 finishes and 11 top-fives to win the 2022 PASS Modified title. Lamb came up short one spot in 2021, but locked down the title this year with one win at Oxford in July. In the season finale Lamb was second to Brandon Varney, who won for the fourth time in 2022.

– For the sixth time in his career, Stephen Nasse completed all 400 laps in the Winchester 400 and this time it resulted in his second Winchester Rifle. Nasse, who led four times for a race high 133 laps, has completed all but six laps at Winchester rating back to 2016. Nasse has led over 600 laps in his career at Winchester and trails now only Mike Eddy, Bob Senneker, Butch Miller and Mike Cope.

– The victory by Nasse makes him the ninth driver to win the Winchester 400 more than once. With his sixth top-five, he’s only three off the most in the event's history. He would have a long way to the top as Bob Senneker won the Winchester 400 seven times.

– William Sawalich keeps his hot streak going with the 100-lap JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour win on Friday night at Winchester Speedway (IN). Sawalich now has double-digit wins for the 2022 season. We have him with 11 overall.
