What to Know About the Bill Bigley Memorial at 4-17
– The winner of the Bill Bigley Memorial will pocket $30,000 for the victory. A big payday for a one-day show. Not all the money is in the race win as $3,500 will be awarded to the driver who sets fast time.
– This will be the seventh running of this race, with Jesse Dutilly having two wins in the past as well as Anthony Sergi. Steve Dorer and Michael Atwell each have a win in this race.
– Some of those names we have already mentioned are the heavy hitters around 4-17 Speedway. Anthony Sergi has five top five runs in five starts this year, last year’s winner Michael Atwell has six finishes in the top 10, and George Gorham and Jesse Dutilly have four each in the top 10 as well.
– It wouldn’t be a Florida Late Model race without the name Anderson. Wayne Anderson, winner of countless events, will in the show along with his son Randy Anderson. The Anderson name goes deep into history with Wayne’s dad racing against Bill Bigley Sr. years ago.
– The money is attracting several out of town drivers like Boris Jurkovic. Austin Nason, Michael Bilderback, Gabe Sommers and Ty Majeski.
– The hottest Super Late Model driver in the country is also scheduled to throw his hat in the ring this weekend. Stephen Nasse, who has won the Winchester 400 and the All American 400 this year, is looking for another big payday before the Snowball Derby.
– The Main event will be a 128-lap feature event for the Super Late Models. There is scheduled to be a 50-lap non qualifiers race before the main event.
– The top 20 drivers will lock into the show during time trials. There will be two 20-lap B Main events with the top three in each advancing to the main feature.
